Hi, I’m Mara.
I’m a writer, worship leader, and mom who has walked through the weight of financial strain and come out the other side with a heart completely changed by God’s faithfulness. For years, I believed that financial freedom meant having enough of everything — enough income, enough savings, enough comfort to finally breathe. But as I walked through my own journey of paying off debt and learning to trust God day by day, I discovered something far greater: true financial freedom begins in the heart.
It’s the quiet confidence that God will provide manna for today. It’s the peace that settles in when you surrender your worries and choose to trust His promises. And it’s the joy that comes from realizing that our resources were never meant to be stored up for ourselves, but to be used to bless others and further His Kingdom.
I know what it feels like to carry the burden of debt — the anxiety that creeps in with every bill, the shame that whispers “you should be further along by now.” But I also know the beautiful relief of grace — the moment you realize God’s love isn’t dependent on your bank account, and that He delights in walking with you, even through the mess.
Now, I’m passionate about helping women find that same freedom — the kind that isn’t just about numbers on a spreadsheet, but about the transformation of the heart. Through my writing and resources, I hope to inspire you to trust God more deeply, manage your finances with wisdom, and live generously with open hands and a peaceful spirit.
Whether through a song, a story, or a simple reminder of God’s truth, my prayer is that you’ll leave here encouraged — knowing that freedom is possible, peace is within reach, and God is faithful to provide exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.

GLOW was born from a desire to help women see that financial opportunities can be sacred — that God can use every step of our financial journey to teach, transform, and bless us. Over the years, I’ve experienced firsthand how saying “yes” to God-led opportunities has reshaped my financial future. It’s not about chasing wealth for comfort’s sake, but about learning to recognize when He is opening a door and having the courage to walk through it. And we don’t do that alone – we do that together, through community, “networking”, and love.
I want to help other women do the same and be apart of the community — to help women step into their own God-led opportunities for wealth, wisdom, and freedom. When we follow His leading, we don’t just change our bank accounts; we change our hearts, our homes, and our legacies.

A Generous Word was created to walk through scripture book by book and explore how generosity, faith, and God’s abundance in our lives intertwine. How do we navigate what scripture says about money and God’s intentions for generosity? What does Jesus say about giving, stewardship, and the heart behind our resources? And what does financial freedom truly look like in the Gospel?
Through this series, we dive deeply into the Word with intention — uncovering the ways God calls us to live generously, not as a duty, but as an expression of faith and trust in His provision. Each passage is an opportunity to see how generosity shapes our hearts, our choices, and our lives, revealing the abundant life Jesus promises.
